The Veterinary Association of India (VAI), functioning under the aegis of the AgroVet Research and Development Foundation (ARDF), is pleased to announce the launch of a comprehensive series of Certified Online Internship Programmes for UG and PG students of BVSc & AH, commencing from January 2026. These internship programmes have been conceptualized with the objective of strengthening undergraduate veterinary education, enhancing skill orientation, and improving the professional preparedness of future veterinarians in India. Recognizing the evolving role of veterinarians in animal health, public health, livestock development, animal welfare, digital innovation and sustainable agriculture, VAI has designed these internships to bridge the gap between academic learning and field-level professional practice. The VAI–ARDF internships cover a wide spectrum of veterinary domains, including core clinical orientation, livestock and poultry production, public health and One Health, research and policy, digital veterinary practice, entrepreneurship, wildlife and conservation, animal welfare and legal awareness, community veterinary medicine, emerging technologies, and career development. Special emphasis has also been given to Indian Traditional Veterinary Knowledge, Veterinary Ayurveda and Veterinary Homeopathy, promoting ethical, evidence-based and integrative approaches to animal healthcare. All internship programmes will be conducted in online mode, supported by structured PDF study materials, curated VAI YouTube learning resources, assessments, and digital certification. The programmes are designed to be UG-friendly, time-bound, academically sound, and nationally relevant, enabling students to explore multiple career pathways while continuing their regular academic curriculum. Through this initiative, VAI aims to create a national platform for veterinary skill development, promote professional excellence and ethical practice, and empower veterinary students with the knowledge, confidence and vision required to serve livestock owners, companion animals, society and the nation effectively. The VAI–ARDF Certified Online Internship Programmes represent a significant step towards nurturing competent, compassionate and future-ready veterinarians, aligned with India’s developmental priorities and global One Health goals.
