🔹 Objectives of the Award

  1. To honour registered field veterinarians of India who have demonstrated exemplary service in rural and tribal livestock healthcare.
  1. To encourage veterinary professionals working under challenging rural conditions to continue serving farmers with innovation, compassion, and dedication.
  1. To highlight the critical role of veterinarians in rural economy, livestock development, and farmer livelihood security.
  1. To commemorate the legacy of Prof. Jit Singh, a stalwart in Veterinary Surgery & Radiology, and to inspire veterinarians to uphold professional ethics and rural service values.

🔹 Terms & Conditions

Eligibility:

Must be a Registered Veterinarian (with valid VCI/State Veterinary Council registration).

Must have a minimum of 2 years of continuous service as a field veterinarian in rural/tribal/remote areas of India.

Should be actively engaged in animal healthcare, preventive veterinary services, extension, or livestock welfare programs.

Preference will be given to those who have worked in resource-constrained, tribal, or underserved regions.

Nomination Process:

Open to self-nominations and third-party nominations (from peers, veterinary associations, government departments, or farmer organizations).

Nomination must include:

  1. Application/Nomination form (VAI prescribed format).
  1. Detailed CV with service record.
  1. A write-up (1000–1500 words) on achievements and impact in rural veterinary service.
  1. Minimum two testimonials from community leaders/farmers/officials.
  1. Proof of VCI/State Veterinary Council registration.
  1. Documentary evidence of field impact – including photographs, success stories, published reports, or measurable outcomes.
  1. All documents must be emailed to 📧 veterinaryassociationofindia@gmail.com along with payment proof.

Registration Charges:

A non-refundable registration fee of ₹500/- must be paid at the time of application.

Payment should be made to the official VAI Bank Account available at 👉 www.vai.org.in.

Proof of payment (screenshot/UTR number) must be attached with the nomination form.

Applications without payment proof will be treated as incomplete and rejected.

Selection Criteria:

Quality & impact of field service (disease prevention, livestock productivity, farmer livelihood support).

Innovation in veterinary practices suitable for rural India.

Community recognition and acceptance by farmers and local stakeholders.

Dedication to profession under adverse conditions (remote areas, limited resources, emergencies).

Contribution towards animal welfare, natural farming, and sustainable livestock practices.

Strength of documentary evidence and success stories submitted.

Disqualification:

Any record of professional misconduct, malpractice, or unethical practice.

Submission of false/forged documents.

🔹 Award Components

Citation and Plaque in the name of Prof. Jit Singh Rural Veterinary Excellence Award.

Certificate of Recognition issued by VAI.

Cash Award (amount to be decided by VAI, optional).

🔹 Number of Awards

One awardee from each State and Union Territory of India will be selected every year.

Last Date of Accepting Nominations: 25th November 2025

Result Announcement by Jury: 28th November 2025

Felicitation Ceremony: 30th November 2025 (Indian Veterinary Doctor’s Day – Birth Anniversary of Dr. C.M. Singh)
