The Veterinary Association of India (VAI) is committed to transforming the veterinary and allied sectors through targeted programmes and initiatives that combine science, compassion, and sustainability. Our work extends beyond clinical practice to address the broader dimensions of animal welfare, public health, rural livelihood, and environmental stewardship.

Key initiatives include:

One Health Mission: Integrating animal, human, and environmental health to prevent and control zoonotic diseases.

Animal Welfare & Ethics: Advocating humane treatment, promoting responsible ownership, and supporting rescue and rehabilitation programs.

Rural & Tribal Livelihood Development: Strengthening the role of livestock in improving rural incomes, especially in underserved communities.

Capacity Building & Skill Development: Offering specialized training and certification programmes for veterinary professionals, para-veterinarians, and community animal health workers.

Through these strategic actions, VAI ensures that veterinary science continues to serve as a pillar of national development and a partner in achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
